Cancelled Games Wiki

The Suffering is a 2004 first and third person shooter survival horror game developed by Surreal Software and published by Midway Games for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox with the PC port being distributed by Encore Software in North America and Zoo Digital Publishing in Europe. A GameCube version was also planned alongside the other versions, but was later cancelled halfway through development.

Why was it cancelled?[]

  • Poor GameCube sales of other Midway titles released on that platform.
  • Because of low popularity of the GameCube, Midway decided to shift more focus towards Xbox and PlayStation 2 going forward.

Result[]

The GameCube version of The Suffering never saw the light of day.

We just got PC, PS2, and Xbox versions of this game.
