The Sopranos: Road to Respect is a game released in 2006 exclusively for the PS2, which was published by THQ and developed by 7 Studios, it was based on the HBO TV Series "The Sopranos".
Originally, however it wasn't going to be a PS2 exclusive, but it was also going to be released for the Xbox 360, not just the PS2, however the 360 version was cancelled leaving it to be a PS2 exclusive.
Why it was cancelled[]
- The 360 version was looking too much like the PS2 version, even though it was said that the 360 version would of had things like enhanced graphics, specular mapping, bump mapping, and post-processing effects like motion blur, depth of field, bloom, etc. [1]
- THQ wanted this version to be a truly next-gen experience, but it was never happening, as 7 Studios was becoming stretched working on two different formats of consoles.
Results[]
- The game for the Xbox 360 version was permanently cancelled.
- This game became a PS2 exclusive.
- The Sopranos series has ended in 2007 and later received a prequel film, "The Many Saints of Newark" released in 2021
