Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is a 2002 platformer developed by both Check Six Studios and Equinoxe Digital Entertainment and published by Universal Interactive for the GameCube and PlayStation 2. It is the fourth main installment in the Spyro series and is the first in the series to go full multiplatform following Universal's complete acquisition of the franchise. Xbox and PC versions were also planned during development and were scheduled for release sometime in early 2003, but both versions would later be cancelled.

Why were they cancelled?[]

The game was met with mixed to negative reviews from critics and fans alike and also didn't do well enough by Universal Interactive's tastes.

Results[]

Both Xbox and PC versions were permanently cancelled.

We only got PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions of this game.

Trivia[]

Spyro made his Xbox debut with A Hero's Tail in 2004 and made his PC/Windows debut with the Reignited Trilogy in 2019.

This was Check Six Studios' only game they've ever made as months after the release of Enter the Dragonfly, they've closed down. They had Aliens: Colonial Marines in development for the PS2 with both Fox Interactive and EA, but that was later cancelled because of their closure.

This would also be the last game in the franchise to have Stewart Copeland as the music composer up until the Reignited Trilogy.
