Sonic the Hedgehog (also known as Sonic '06, Sonic 2006 or Sonic Next-Gen) is a 2006 platforming game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It was released as celebration for the 15th anniversary of the series. It was intended to be a reboot of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, it was released for the Xbox 360 and later released for the PlayStation 3.and later released for the Microsoft Windows.

A port for Microsoft Windows was planned but was cancelled. The Wii port was also planned but was reworked to Sonic and the Secret Rings due to the console's limitations.

Why It Was Cancelled

1. The PC port had a terrible development cycle.
2. There was possibly not enough time to make a PC port of the game, just like the Wii port.
