Sonic the Hedgehog (Wii, 2006)

A Wii version of the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 game was planned, but was cancelled.

Why It Was Cancelled

1. Possibly, the Wii wasn't powerful enough to run the game without the graphics, textures and other things being heavily watered down, which would not do the sales much good and would also be rather hard with the rushed development of the game.
2. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions where already rushed, so there wasn't enough time to make the Wii port.
3. After the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were released, they were negatively received, so the Wii port after that would be even worse.

Results

• This port was cancelled.
• The engine originally used to make a Wii port of Sonic 2006 was re-used for Sonic and the Secret Rings.
