Project CARS was a crowdfunded racing simulator video game launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows in May 2015 In addition to these consoles this video game was planned for Nintedo's Wii U system, but the Wii U version was afterwards cancelled. This was because the developers stated that they could not release the game in the right framerate for the Wii U system, and also additionally stated that they believed that the Wii U's market share and sales were not good enough, so they believed it wasn't worth the time.

The game was as mentioned above developed for all the main consoles of the major companies, which are PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and the Wii U system. But whilst the game was successfully released for the other consoles, it never saw the light of day on the Wii U system. The reasons for the cancellation was because the developers were unable to develop the game at 30fps with a resolution of 720p, and anyway the Wii U system's sales were too poor to bother creating the game for it.
