Mortal Kombat X is a game that came out on April 14th 2015, the game was supposed to be ported to Xbox 360 and PS3. But, was cancelled.

Why They Were Cancelled

1. The game was too hard to port to consoles with inferior technology.
2. The graphics were too hard to implement.
3. The PS3/Xbox 360 were both slowly being phased out by the time the ports where canceled.
4. After a certain disasters PS3/Xbox 360 port of a WB Games AAA game, and under performing this along with Dying Light and Mad Max 2015 games last gen releases where canceled.
5. It wanted to avoid holding back the current gen/PC versions after certain games.

Result

• Both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports of Mortal Kombat X were cancelled.
• Mortal Kombat X remains exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
• The new edition titled Mortal Kombat XL was released on March 1, 2016.

Trivia

• The old gen versions for the game were being developed by High Voltage Software. who have made injustice: Gods Among Us for PC and PS4.
